I am a worm seeking an apple. It’s just across a gravel pathway.
Above me is a big old oak tree with an American Robin chirping, “I’m hungry for a worm!”
He hasn’t seen me yet…
The gravel is hot, I might melt if I try to make a straight run for the apple.
There is some moss on the gravel… maybe I can navigate it to get to the apple.

Go straight across the gravel. I am getting very dry.
Go back. I was too late to turn back and shrivelled up. Wah :(
Keep going. The bird swoops down and takes the apple. I shrivel up like a raisin. :(
Try the moss to the left, away from the bird. I keep my eyes on the bird as I wiggle in the opposite direction.
Wander to the next moss patch to the left. I'm still unseen by the Robin, and the apple is getting closer!
Keep wiggling on. I'm focused on my mission! I make it to the apple and have a yummy snack! :)
Take a little detour. The robin hears me whistling on my adventure. It flies over and eats me. :(
Jump to the next moss patch to the right. Landing from my jump shuffles some gravel around, the Robin turns its head towards the sound.
Hide behind a bigger gravel rock. He doesn't notice me, but sees the apple and swoops it up for lunch. :(
Slowly wiggle away. The Robin doesn't see me. I make it to the apple and have a nice solo picnic.
Try the moss to the right, towards the bird.
Continue to the mossy patch to the right. I'm still unseen by the Robin, and the apple is getting closer!
Go as fast as I can! I make it to the apple in record time and eat it! I ate too fast and have a bit of a tummy ache.
Go slow... The Robin sees me and gives me a weird look for going so slow. It flies over to eat me but the sun dries up me and the moss before it can! :(
Go to the mossy patch on the left. I am enjoying the nice breeze today.
Wander on. The bird sees me on the way to the apple and gets jealous! It swoops up the apple and sticks its tonge out at me. :(
Stop to enjoy the breeze. This is nice... I don't need the apple and I don't mind the Robin... Life is nice. I am happy here. I shrivel up but I am joyful.
